Nice managing. Stop giving away outs. Garner has said time after time after time that he doesn't like to sacrifice --- yet that's all he ever does. Taveras lead off double in the 8th with stros up 2-0. Self, Biggio and Berkman coming up. So he calls for Self to sacrifice and then Biggio and Berkman both K. Taveras is the fastest guy on the team - what difference does it make if he's on 2nd or 3rd. your team sucks on offense they need every chance they can to get a hit yet Phil is just giving outs away. absolutely deplorable.
I wrote this before phil's horribly mismanaged bullpen blew the lead.
the good news is they have passed the D-rays, only KC and colorado left to go.
