Your Daily Dose:Monday

Just some notes as I was watching the Rockets-Heat game last night.
--Here are the four stars and their first half and final numbers.
WADE...6/13...16PTS SHAQ...4/6...8PTS,7R
T-MAC...2/7...4PTS YAO...4/8...14PTS,8R...6-7FT
-------------------------------------------------
wade...8/22...24pts shaq...6-14...15pts,10r 3-9ft
t-mac...6/18...12pts(8a) yao...11/19...34pts,14r 12-13ft

-- Yao's 14 rebounds give him 2,730 in his career and moved him past Rodney McCray (2,718) into 9th place in Rockets history for total rebounds, next up is the very well-known Kevin Kunnert (2,891).
-- Rockets 34 points in the 4th quarter marked their highest scoring qtr of the season
-- 9 pts is the largest deficit they've faced in a game they've won this year
-- Have outscored Dallas and Miami 199-146 this year
-- When Yao leads Rox in scoring the team is 4-0, when he doesn't, 1-2
-- Outrebounded their opponent for the 6th straight game.(5-1)

The Texans nearly found a new and exciting way to lose despite winning the turnover battle 4-zip. The narrow 13-10 win snapped a 12 game road losing streak which not too coincidentally began following a Dec. '04 trip out of J'ville. Three Texans played their final game of the season, with OT Zach Wiegert(torn ACL), CB Lewis Sanders(broken hand) and DT Travis Johnson(calf) all put on IR.

Good news is the Texans have bounced back from their horrendous 0-3 start to split their next six and the defense has improved dramatically over that stretch. With Buffalo, New York (Jets), Oakland and Tennessee the next four opponents - the Texans should do no worse than grab two more wins. The injury to David Carr's shoulder does not appear to be serious and he'll likely get the start against the Bills this Sunday for the first home game in four weeks. Honestly I didn't think Carr played particularly well prior to the injury. Very inaccurate and just didn't seem as in command as he had been in other games. One can only hope that Samkon Gado's emergence in the second half will mean we have seen the last of Ron Dayne on Sundays. It should also be getting close to the time when practice squad RB Chris Taylor gets a look in the backfield.

BCS Discussion will be up at 6:40 on Monday with the release of the WEEK 11 Nightshift Power 16....
