Forget the two wins for a minute, they look like a legitimate NFL team finally. They call real plays. No more dump offs. No more runs directly into a mass of people at the line of scrimmage. No more panic from the offense. There is a pocket for the QB to sit in and throw from. There are holes, occasionally, for a RB to dart through. Of course the Texans still make their mistakes - the Owen Daniels fumble, the Schaub INT that was overturned - but they make them knowing that they have the talent and desire to overcome them. That is NFL football. Finally. Bring on the Colts, it's gonna be fun.
1. Kentucky scores on a 57-yard TD pass to go up 39-34 with :28 seconds left. Rich Brooks gives it no thought and kicks the extra point. That gave them a 6 pt lead instead of 7!!?!?!? A touchdown beats you Coach!!!!! Inexplicable and would be unforgivable had they lost.
2. Texas scores on a 46-yard TD run to go up 35-24 with just under 4 minutes left. Mack Brown gives it little thought and goes for a 2-pt pass which is unsuccessful. Hey Mack they need two touchdowns to win if you kick the PAT and up 12. How the hell does being up 13 help at all. But the unsuccessful try kept it at a 2 possession game so after UCF scored a TD in the final minute, Texas had to withstand an onside kick for the second time in three games this season to secure a win. Not too surprising that some in Austin are calling it like they see it.

Anyone notice how Dunta Robinson who was the only one with enough swingers to talk about Carr last year dropped a "quarterback like number 8" reference instead of saying "Shaub" has David already lost all reference to that number in 2 games? Or perhaps it's a blast on Carr. Either way I will take it because the difference in Dunta is readily apparent.
swingers is a word I surely will start using. I think you are right on. I can tell you that those guys in the lockerroom know they actually have a chance to win now. and the change at #8 is without question the #1 reason. But Dunta and others (mario, o-line, leach, etc...) are playing their best football.
