Take that Jazz, Sage to start, Pick 'em

I was very surprised as the Rockets handed the Jazz defeat in their home opener in Salt Lake. I think Utah is going to be very difficult to eliminate in the playoffs this year, yet the Rockets won in Utah for the first time since '05 and started a season 2-0 for the first time since '01-'02.
-- T-Mac's 47 points were the most ever scored by a Rockets player against the Jazz.
-- The PF combo of Chuck Hayes and Luis Scola was phenomenal with Hayes grabbing 13 boards and Scola pumping in his first 7 points as an NBA player to go with 9 boards.
-- Mike James has been all the Rockets could have hoped for coming off the bench in both games and even dubbed himself "the sparkplug" during the postgame show on SportsRadio 610.
-- So why is everyone (or seemingly everyone) calling and e-mailing and bitchin' and complainin' about Steve Francis not getting playing time??? Relax people. It'll come. He's not a cancer, ne's not going to be a cancer. Coach Adelman doesn't have a vendetta against him. He'll get a chance to become a bigger part of the team soon enough. Patience, people.

I'll have the pregame show and post game Fan Feedback again on Saturday for the home opener against Portland on SR610.

Don't know about you, but I'm pretty excited to see Sage Rosenfels get a legitimate start for the first time as a Texan. I was a huge Rosenfels fan after watching him in camp last year and just this morning (when I joined Marc Vandermeer on the morning show), I said he should be given a chance to play. He should have been the starter last season, but as a backup behind a high-paid starter he was never given the chance and essentially the same holds true this year. Both Matt Schaub and Andre Johnson are out for the Raider game, but this is a put up or shut up game for Houston.

Enough with the "We're almost there crap," if they lose to the 2-5 Raiders to fall to 3-6 before hitting the bye week. I'm calling it a must win if they want fans to really believe they are improving. A 4-5 team coming off a bye week, awaiting the arrival of the Saints to Reliant Stadium Nov. 18 sounds a whole lot better than a team that would have managed just 3 wins in ten weeks.
