Peter -
Good point - big surprise they have all disappeared. I didn't think JVG should have been replaced (but I did think the offense they ran last year was pathetic) & once the coaching search was on, Adelman was my top choice. Also, I do think the point guard position is weak with Rafer, but by now it's obvious the team does operate much, much better (both ends) with Rafer (even though Rafer is just a miserable shooter.)
Hard to believe the team we saw the last two days is the same one that has beaten Utah, SA, Phx, Den. They are playing like total dogs. That run they allowed tonight in the 3rd Qtr was all on the players - especially T-Mac, followed by Yao & Francis.
They're now 0-2 w/o Rafer Alston !!! And that's against Toronto & Philly!!!
Only briefly have we seen signs of the motion offense or Yao in the high post and that's b/c it has had little effect on their offense. They've got a laid back coach who hasn't yet figured out how to get through to this group regarding all-out hustle and effort. Even though at the time I liked the offseason moves, the only thing they did for certain was get older. (James, Francis, Wells and a 27-year old rookie in Scola.)
The starters have alomst zero energy and since T-Mac doesn't eveer run the floor - the offense is nearly identical to last year. No easy baskets, grind it out and watch Tracy and Yao. I'm thoroughly disappointed.
It's almost to the point after 22 games you can start to question whether this is even a playoff team. I know there are 60 games to go, but there are 9 playoff caliber teams in the West, Houston is 9th among them. Until injuries come along - which team ahead of them are they better than? They are closer to last place in the West, than first place.
Thanks for listening and thanks for the note.

Adam,
Have you heard from any of the JVG and Rafer Alston haters lately? Where is that motion offense that was suppose to make things easier for Yao? Even though his rebounding has improved and he is getting stronger each year, Yao is still a finesse player with a wide range of skill. Oh yeah, can we put an end to the Stevie Franchise thing? This is not the second coming!

Since we were talking boxing and UFC on the show tonight on SportsRadio 610, it was suggested that the Contender finale was the fight of the year. So here's part 1, you can grab the rest from the link....
