(2:30pm) Man are the Texans un-smart. I'll be nice. Up 21 with 10 minutes to go and on their way to the best rushing game of the year, they call for Sage to throw downfield on 2nd and 13. He throws way late to a wide-open Andre Johnson. Scott Starks steps in front of it and that gives the Texans perfection on the season. All 16 games with at least 1 turnover. This was just like most of Sage's miscues. A bad throw, an unnecessary throw, a mental mistake more than physical.
---------------------------
(2:16pm) Darius Walker gets a TD taken away from him, when the call was correctly overturned that he was out-of-bounds prior to the goal line. He got in on the next play and helped give the Texans their 1st 40-point game in team history. His 41-yard run during the drive also constitutes their longest rush of the season. BTW - the largest margin of victory in team history also came against the Jags, 21-0, 12/26/04.
HOUSTON 42-21
---------------------------
(2:07pm) Good thing today has been the Andre Davis show, since the Texans defense is getting shredded by Quinn Gray. He tossed his 3rd TD pass of the day on a simple fade route to Matt Jones, who easily caught the ball over Fred Bennett, who looked bad getting beaten for a score for the 2nd week in a row. He was also guilty of pass interference. Nonetheless, the Texans might still produce the most points in team history and their largest margin of victory which is 21.
HOUSTON 35-21
---------------------------
(1:54pm) Okay, lunch is over (nachos) and I'm back. Davis ties for the league lead in KR TDs when he takes the opening kickoff of the 2nd half 104 for another score. He also takes over the top spot in average at 31.9 yards. The offense then went 64 yards for the 5th TD of the game for Houston, tying their all-time best. They set that earlier this year in the 38-36 loss to the Titans. The two highest scoring outputs in Texans history have come this year, and essentially both have come with Sage at the controls.
HOUSTON 35-14
---------------------------
(1:17pm) Texans will have the lead at the half provided they don't allow the Jags to duplicate Andre Davis' 97-yard kickoff return for a score. Davis took the ball up against the sideline, followed his blockers to the 15, then broke to his left and for the second time this year, just outran the defense. In 2005 Jerome Mathis had 2 TDs on kick returns, Davis now has 2 this year, both 97 yards. That 97-yard return also boost his season average to 29.4 yards per kick return - which places him 2nd in the NFL.
HOUSTON 21-14
---------------------------
(1:14pm) Take note, rookie MLB Zac Diles is now in the game and making calls for the defense. I suspect DeMeco will probably take the rest of the afternoon off due to his ongoing knee issues. Gray throws one over the middle (where Diles maybe should have been) and tie the game at 14 with just :29 seconds left in the half.
TIED 14-14
---------------------------
(1:00pm) Why not continue doing the things they've been doing all year. The Texans do things the hard way. The Texans look very bad trying to get one yard after a 15 yard Andre Johnson catch leaves them with 1st and goal. They get cute trying to throw one wide to FB Vonta Leach!!!. As usual they bring in 3 tight ends and keep everybody tight on the line to make sure they can get all 11 Jaguars in the box. Dayne runs into a brick wall on back-to-back zero yard carries. Then on 4th down Sage finally makes his first nice throw of the game, floating one into Owen Daniels in the back of the endzone, despite being well covered.
HOUSTON 14-7
---------------------------
(12:39pm) Dayne gets 2 carries up the middle, gets the score on the 2nd one and it's all tied up. Remember the Texans have won the turnover battle only 4 times all year - they're 4-0 in those games. They haven't been on the plus side in 6 weeks. That fumble recovery was their 14th of the season, only San Diego and Cincinnati have recovered more this season.
TIED 7-7
---------------------------
(12:35pm) The Texans offense is sleepwalking through the 1st quarter when Jags newcomer Chad Owens - added to the active roster today - lets a 2nd terrible Matt Turk punt bounce at the 20, but as it bounds inside the ten yard line, Owens tries to dive on it . There were 3 Texans around it when it squirted free, Andre Davis recovered it. Think the offense scores a TD???
---------------------------
(12:13pm) Battle Red or otherwise, the Jaguars just rolled right thru the Texans porous defense. Jags get exactly what they want, burning 7:48 off the clock and getting a very easy TD toss from back-up Quinn Gray to pedestrian Reggie Williams. They convert 2 of 3 3rd downs and a 4th down and even though it's called a sellout - the empty blue and red seats are not making a lot of noise right now. Awful start.
JAGUARS 7-0, 1st Q

I hope Andre Walker showed enough to get off the practice squad and can be a good match with Andre Dayne. Andre Williams better show the same motor in future years he did this year. I think Andre Jones will have a better year next year with adjustments he learned this year sans injuries. I'm glad that Andre Rosenfels showed he can win games and hopefully Andre Kubiak looks at injury prone Matt Schaub a little closer.
