Lockerroom rift? A-Rod's teammates in Texas & Genius Vids

I was on Sports Sunday last night and we discussed the Texans off season rule skirting and A-Rod linked to steroid use. Quickly on those two items...
-------------------------------------
-The Texans will lose a week of OTA's and Kubiak will be fined. They conducted practice with drills strictly and explicitly prohibited by the CBA. There is little doubt about it. This will end up being more about the players union honestly. They are going to be pissed that the league's teams and the union have a labor agreement and most if not all teams are knowingly breaking the rules. This incident will be important at the negotiating table b/c both Texans' player reps are said to have told Kubiak and other coaches that they can't make the players go thru these non-contact activities during this offseason practice - and their concerns, while noted, were paid little if any attention.
I don't every little detail about how Dan Stevenson and Jordan Black went about telling their stories to ESPN's OTL, but it seems safe to bet that the Texans could have squashed this whole thing if they had just reached some sort of agreement/settlement.
It's a good thing they have been exposed, because maybe this will push teams back in the right direction of sticking to the rules. Yes, I know a very naive approach - we'll see.

On A-Rod and Roids, what ticks me off the most is that he sat there in 2007 in his interview with Katie Couric and said flat out he's never used steroids, HGH or any performance enhancing drugs. Not only did his name surface on the 2003 report, but reports that followed on Saturday indicated that he was fully aware that he was on the list and had tested positive. Essentially, he used and still thought he wasn't going to get caught so he lied. Just like Pettitte and so many others. I use Pettitte's name because everyone seemed to forgive the guy and make him out to be some hero because he admitted that he used. They forget that he only admitted he used after he got caught and after his "secret" was out. He, too, was asked point blank about using and lied and said no. Then his ridiculous crap about only using them to recover, so it was no big deal. Pathetic.

--- UPDATE - Alex Rodriguez admits using PEDs from 2001-2003. My thoughts coming up later.
--- Check out who played with Rodriguez with the Rangers during those years.
- 2001: Rafael Palmeiro, Ken Caminiti, Chad Curtis
- 2002: Juan Gonzalez, John Rocker, C.J. Nitkowski
Wow, that is an imressive list of choices for A-Rod to turn to for a PED source!!!

So Tracy McGrady and Ron Artest might not get along? Really? That's crazy - no way, never saw that coming. Especially while the team isn't doing anything special. Guess what, the Rockets have dont nothing the last 4 years with McGrady getting coddled and getting away with going about his business both in preparation off the court and his play on the court. By no means are the Rockets playoff failures solely on his shoulders - I am not intending to insinuate that, but what is so bad about a talented teammate calling him out for once.
Not a thing, especially since T-Mac can come right back at him and say the same thing. Artest plays hard - no doubt about that. But he does just as many counter-productive things as McGrady on the court if not more. Let's see what happens when this team is winning. If that ever happens - now would be the time, starting tonight in Milwaukee.
