- Sure Billy Clyde only won 40 of his 67 games (winning percentage .597 - worst in 80 years for a UK coach), so that played a role in his dismissal. But an NCAA bid in year one, followed by an NIT bid this year - even at high and mighty Kentucky - is not enough to fire a head coach you just brought on two years ago. Gillispie got fired quite simply b/c the men in charge at Kentucky don't like him. He's boorish, anti-social, reportedly a lush and totally uninterested in the program, the university or the kids. He's not well-liked, so when he didn't win enough the people who run things at UK, who think he's a jerk, fired him. (The number of people who think that has been on the rise for about 4 years - just ask ESPN's Jeanine Edwards.
Not once, but twice - seriously BCG - get a life.

The Kentucky papers are all over the coach search...Here's their initial 15-man list. Great info provided on each. Take a quick look at the list - It'll probably surprise which of those coaches listed has the best winning percentage.
