They was so much backlash over the perception that the NBA was doing all they could to make it a Kobe-LeBron NBA finals. The Nike puppet campaign and everything else seemed to turn everyone against the matchup and when Orlando topped the Cavs some seemed to revel in the fact that the "master plan" had been messed up.
Careful what you wish for, since now we're one game into the NBA finals and few think the Magic will make this series competitive. It's been a great postseason from the Celtics-Bulls 7-game marathon series to the Rockets battling the Lakers through 7 games, the last 4 of which were played without Yao Ming. The Magic winning back-to-back series against the Celts and Cavs, without home court advantage in either. Not to mention a seemingly never-ending supply of great games and unbelievable game winning shots.
Orlando has been very resilient so far, but they are no facing their toughest team. The real problem is the same is not true for the Lakers. They are not facing their toughest foe. Both Houston and Denver, in my opinion, are tougher match-ups for the Lakers. But we'll see. Hopefully Sunday night's game in LA is not the last game there this season.

David Anderson has been the funniest Texans player ever since he was drafted in 2006. Here's one more legendary reason why.
