Athletes (& their Hot Wives) Gamble?? Huh??

We all do it. We all know athletes do it. And now in addition to the Pete Rose scandal, we have even more proof that gambling is just a part of life. "Operation Slap Shot" revealed an organized gambling ring with PHX Coyotes asst. coach Rick Tocchet right in the middle of it. His head coach (and minority owner) just happens to be the great one, Wayne Gretzky, whose wife and star of the all-time classics, Police Academy 5:Assignment Miami Beach and American Anthem, the former Janet Jones, apparently placed bets with Tocchet, et al.
A couple of good articles in Phoenix shed some light on the potnential fiasco, including an owner being among those who placed illegal bets.
Betting Case Rocks Coyotes
Last Thing NHL,Coyotes Need
Don't miss the part where the Great One dumps on the NHL for their OLN TV deal and completely bags on Arena Football.
This story has it all. Ties to organized crime. Cops involvement. Conspiracy & money-laundering. Gretzky explaining that his assistant coach who he's known for 20+ years and his wife are both involved and yet he has absolutely no idea what's going on. This is only the beginning.

What was the triggering element that brought all this to the forefront? If they are doing it now, have they been doing it all along? I now wonder how many games "The Great One" fixed? If this is a case the record books should be rewritten!

Also...Regarding that 1987 playboy shot of Mrs. The Great One.

She's got floppy ones.

Was Mrs. The Great one really in Playboy? SWEET! I wonder what the over under on the "floppy ones" drop was.
