Come draft time, everyone wants to make their comparisons for all the incoming talent. Reggie Bush is the next Gale Sayers or Barry Sanders. Vince Young is the next John Elway or a rich-man's Randall Cunningham. Lendale White is the next Bam Morris...alright that was a low blow, but you catch my drift. We need to start with Bush and just merely focus on size. Here are some interesting, most-oft mentioned RB comparisons, strictly from a size standpoint.

Gale Sayers 6'0", 198 lbs
Barry Sanders 5'8", 203 lbs
Emmitt Smith 5'10", 216 lbs
Warrick Dunn 5'9", 180 lbs
Marshall Faulk 5'11", 211 lbs
Julius Jones 5'10", 205 lbs
Edgerrin James 6'0", 214 lbs

Reggie Bush 5'11", 202 lbs

Interestingly, on the high side is Edgerrin James who has been incredible durable. I know he blew out his knee, but he averaged 352 carries and 54 receptions in the 2 seasons before and 3 seasons since that injury (while missing only 5 games in 5 seasons)

On the low side is Warrick Dunn by a large margin. He's stayed injury free for the most part, missing 5 games in 2003. But he's averaged only 231 carries a season in the other 8.

Now the player whom Bush most resembles is Julius Jones of the Cowboys. He's only played 21 of a possible 32 games in his 2 seasons, missing 2 months as a rookie. The strange part is that over the final 7 games of his rookie year he averaged 27 carries and 115 yards. Then had only one game last year with even 27 carries, all the while Bill Parcells trying to replace him with Marion Barber (6'0",212 lbs). Now there's even talk the 'Boys might be interested in USC RB LenDale White (6'2", 240 lbs) if he's still on the board at #18 in the April draft.

Just some things to chew on as the best RB prospect in the last 20 years is about to become a Houston Texan.
