A Little Astros News for You

Contracts signed yesterday and today for Mike Lamb and Brad Lidge, repsectfully.
Lidge grabs $5.35 million and Lamb $2.7 on one-year deals.
Adam Everett and Morgan Ensberg are expected starters, yet still awaiting contract terms for '07. The team has offered $2.5 million, Everett is looking for $3.4 million. Ensberg wants $4.9 million, team offered $4 million.
Let's look at where Drayton's money is going, both this year and last...and yes all monies are in millions, unless otherwise indicated.
1B-Berkman ('06-14.5,'07-14.5)
2B-Biggio ('06-4,'07-5.15)
3B-Ensberg ('06-3.8,'07-probably $4.5)
SS-Everett ('06-1.9,'07-probably $3)
LF-Lee ('06-8.5 w/MIL,'07-11,plus $3 million signing bonus)
CF-Burke ('06-362K,'07-438K)
RF-Scott ('06-335,'07-380K)
C-Ausmus ('06-3.875,'07-4)
and just so you know...
Lamb ('06-1.7,'07-2.7)
Loretta ('06- w/ Bos,'07-2.5)
Oswalt ('06-11,'07-13)
Jennings ('06-4.5 w/Col,'07-6.4)
Woody ('06-5 w/SD,'07-6)
Lidge ('06-3.95;'07-5.375)
Wheeler ('06-930K,'07-2.1)
That's 8 starters and 7 key guys on the bench and in the pen and here's the tally for '07....
$84.05 million!!!!!

Still have ten spots and those likely go to Bruntlett, Quintero, Palmeiro, Lane, Qualls, Miller,Sampson, Borkowski, Nieve, Albers.
Miller makes $1.3 million and it filters down from there. Rough guess is these 10 make about $8 million total.
So why did I bother to make this list. Just to let everybody know the money situation is no better, no worse than last year and the team is capable of both signing Roger Clemens mid-season to a huge contract and/or make a deal for the late season push. So rest easy fans if the 'Stros are in it.

- Nothing new here, but a nice compilation of T-Mac dunks. Each of them are passes to himself off the backboard.
- Who exactly does Dennis Green think he is. He is who he thought he was. So he told the Raiders he is above the interview process.
- More on Posh, No Becks - The 3 lovely girlfriends (Holly, Bridget & Kendra) ( Here's Kendra's Offical Site) of 79-year old Hugh Hefner have come up with a randy idea for their next layout.
- Just an awful story of a radio promotion gone very badly. The more you read and watch about it the worse it sounds. Not surprisingly today, 10 people lost their jobs.
- The following a not a political statement. Merely funny video. Thanks Letterman.
