Round 1
D. Wade vs. S. Marbury
Come on Marbury may be a playground legend, but there is no way in hell this little man can defeat Wade in a one-on-one battle. And for that matter he couldn't beat anybody else in this tourney either. Wade hardly tries.
Final: Wade 21-12
V. Carter vs. J. Johnson
Great match-up b/w the underrated and overrated. Had to go to the listeners on this one, and they said-Vince advances.
Final: Vince 24-22
L. James vs. R. Allen
James knows he's in trouble when Allen gets hot and he gets it going early, taking an 11-3 lead. But the King finally plays a little D and it is over. James scored the final 18 points missing only once but grabbing the rebound and slamming one home on Mr. Jesus Shuttlesworth.
Final: 21-11
K. Garnett vs. A. Iverson
Another one of the first round mismatches. AI is a stone-cold baller with a heart of gold, but he's 6'1", KG is basically one of the most athletic 7-footer the league has ever seen. This one was not close.
Final: KG 21-8
K. Bryant vs. S. Nash
Again, short vs. tall is a very good indicator of the eventual winner. Nash has some very creative shots, but his long range shooting is greatly limited by the taller Kobe. Kobe starts slow, but makes quick work of the 2-time MVP.
Final: Kobe 21-14
G. Arenas vs. C. Anthony
Gilbert drew a very tough draw, opening with 'Melo. Agent Zero wants to be among the league's elite so he takes this very seriously, maybe a touch more than 'Melo, who still nearly advances on pure skills alone.
Final:Arenas 27-25
D. Nowitzki vs. R. Artest
It seems like more than a coincidence that Dirk drew the toughest, dirtiest SOB in this tourney. When it's over Dirk won't be singing any more Hasselhoff tunes, but he will squeak by the volatile Artest, who really can't shoot straight.
Final: Dirk 23-21
T. McGrady vs. M. Redd
This was the scariest of the first round games and it never should have been. But T-Mac allowed Redd to gain confidence and he got hot blasting T-Mac with a barrage of off-balance jumpers that kept hitting the mark. But when he cooled, Redd's D was exposed and Mac survives.
Final: T-Mac 25-23
Great 8
Wade vs. Carter
Kind of a laugher, Vince just mentally wasn't there for this one. Big surprise. Youth is served.
Final: Wade 21-12
James vs. Garnett
Lebron wants Wade, he's jealous of his success. But this a beast of a match-up, no player in this tourney will work harder to winthan KG. Had to go to the listeners for this one. Lebron took it by a 4-2 vote. Finally at least a mild upset.
Final: Lebron 29-27
Bryant vs. Arenas
Arenas got too mentallly wrapped up in this one, kind of like his stinker against Nate McMillan's Blazers recently. Kobe is focused.
Final: Kobe 21-16
Nowitzki vs. McGrady
T-Mac already enjoys shutting down Dirk for the Rockets, so this is no different. OK - it wasn't that easy but McGrady still gets it done.
Final:T-Mac 21-17
Final 4
The Flash vs. King James
It was close and even though it's call your own fouls, Wade was able to make James wait some more for NBA supremacy.
Final:Wade 21-18
Kobe vs. T-Mac
Maybe the best battle of the tourney. Kobe wants a piece of the young dogs awaiting him in the final and T-Mac finally wants to win something. Never separated by more than 4 points it was an epic struggle that was decided on a stunning reverse lay-up.
Final: T-Mac 31-29
THE FINAL CHALLENGE

Wade vs. T-Mac
Wade led most of the way, but T-Mac stayed close til his
J started dropping. T-Mac finally took a-point lead and ended it with a deep bomb. Assist to all the listeners, callers and texters on this one.
Final:T-Mac 24-21
And there you have it, a very un-scientific method to determine the best one-on-one player in the NBA - It's Tracy McGrady.
Now come on Stern - step up and make this happen!!!
