Stros Still In Denial, Rox keep getting good marks, the Bad Newz on Vick, etc.

- How is it possible for Astros owner Drayton McLane to look at the standings and actually see the team with his own eyes since he was on the road trip in D.C. for him to say that he'd be able to better decide if the team was going to be a buyer, seller, or stand pat "after the next 5 or 6 games." Come on Drayton, the good thing about most major sports is that there is a winner or loser every game so the standings paint a very accurate picture of the product, especially this deep into the season. On this road trip through 6 games, the starter pitching has gotten a decision every game, thus they are 1-5. They have delivered one quality start - Chris Sampson pitched 6.2 innings and gave up just 2 runs and the Astros won that night. The starters ERA for the other 5 games including Jason Jennings 2 miserable starts is 10.17 which includes 25.2 IP, 29 ER and 43 H.
What more does he need to see?

- Even though it looks like Rockets GM Daryl Morey is trying to field 2 NBA teams with the number of players he has on the roster right now, he should be given high marks for creatively trying to rebuild the team while keeping in mind who his coach is and what style of play he wants. That obviously wasn't happening over the last 4 years with Van Gundy. Have the Rockets made one move this offseason when you didn't think "yeah, this guy should be great in Adelman's system and philosophy?" Even if the moves do not work out, the Rockets are in a slightly better cap situation and have nothing holding them back from making moves now or in the future to find the right pieces. Look offseason grades are pretty meaningless until the games are played, but how could you not be pleased by these changes:
Mike James in, Vassilis Spanoulis out
Bonzi Wells (2007) in, Wells (2006) out
Luis Scola in, Juwan Howard out
Jackie Butler in, Jake Tsakalidis out
Aaron Brooks in, John Lucas III out (will be traded soon)
and is there anyone not mentioned that you truly expect to have less production this year under Adelman than they had a year ago??

I've been all over the place the last 3 weeks on SportsRadio610, this week I'm on afternoons with Rich Lord...some of the things that we discussed yesterday...
- Vick indictment, Have you read it? Very disturbing.
- One oddsmaking site has there BCS champ odds available. UT, LSU both 10-1
- On college football, SI's Stewart Mandel posts his top 10 and bottom 5 college football coaches. Just keep in mind it's likely nobody from a non-major conference was even considered.
- Steve Francis just won't go away. I'll admit I've waffled, but I'll leave it at this. IT's like signing Wells last year. Low money, low expectations, low risk and can live with or without it. So go ahead, Daryl. If he wants to come here and brings the right attitude, go ahead and do it. The latest from his suitors - Miami (Sentinel), Miami (Herald), Dallas, Houston, and the folks at Clips Nation make their case to land Steve.
- Also interviewed SI's Tom Verducci regarding Hank Aaron and Barry Bonds. Just click or go to Sportsradio610.com.

As always more to come throughout the day, including during the show --- WEX
