A whole lotta nothing, NightShift Pick 'em

-- After deadline after deadline passed and no word from San Diego, the NFL or anyone else about when and where the Texans-Chargers game would be moved. Then on Friday, the decision to change nothing comes - game is set to go down just as scheduled. All that daily chatter kept the focus off of the football field, where the Chargers are coming around while the Texans are sputtering. What area would the Texans have the advantage over the Chargers?? I don't see any.
-- If I were making the decision, I'd sit Schaub for a week and let Rosenfels take the beating that is certain to come since the Texans still have one of the least effective offensive lines in football. Bring a healthier Schaub back for the Raider game and then he gets another week off on the Texans bye week.
-- Samkon Gado was cut earlier in the week (subsequently claimed by the Dolphins, but unable to join the team since his papers weren't in order and the team is in London for the ill-timed regular season tussle with the Giants), and Joe Echemandu was signed off the practice squad. The same type of decision needs to be made as the clock should be ticking on Ron Dayne. I haven't yet figured out how the Texans can possibly get by w/o Dayne's 2.9 yards per carry. In my mind it is not giving up on the season when you let veterans go - if they are not helping the cause. I don't know if Echemandu can help or Darius Walker for that matter, but I do know about Gado and Dayne.
-- Sit Andre Johnson this week and next. Kevin Walter has proven his coach to be correct when Kubiak kept saying the Walter could help this team. Walter has elevated his game over the last 4 weeks with 29 catches and 401 yards. Andre Davis was a smart acquisition by GM Rick Smith and he has made one spectacular catch after another.
