Jazz-Rockets is meaningful, but not revenge-worthy

Sure the first game of the season b/w the Rockets and Jazz should be fun and considering the Rockets had home court advantage over the Jazz last year by virtue of only 1 more win, the game is actually meaningful. But make no mistake the idea of getting a win tonight does not mean the Rockets have exacted any revenge on the Jazz. Not to mention I don't think the Rockets will be getting a win tonight.

The Jazz still get no respect in a loaded Western Conference. They were a battered group, especially Deron Williams, when they took on the Spurs in the conference finals. But they were there weren't they. They can really match up with all the powerhouses. But enough about them. Provided the Rockets don't settle for so may jumpers and they get fewer early shots from Battier - he had more shots than anyone else in the first quarter against the Lakers - it should be a tight game. T-Mac and Yao need to get to the FT line and James needs to continue to bring the offensive spark off the bench. I like the fact that the Rockets didn't play anywhere close to a strong 48-minute game, yet still won on the road against a likely playoff team.

btw - I've got the Pregame show and Rockets Fan Feedback for the Jazz game tonight which of course can be heard on Sportsradio610.
