(9:49pm) Check my post from 7:52 - Mario has two sacks since then - he is going to Hawaii. He now leads the NFL in sacks by a defensive lineman with 12.5. Cutler had been sacked just 17 times this year before tonight - Houston has gotten him down 4 times tonight.
-------------------------------
(9:39pm) This game would be over if not for their silly turnover. Nonetheless, Sage puts the turnover behind him and engineers a fantastic drive. Most of the yards came on the ground with both Walker and Dayne taking care of business. Combined the duo now has 18 carries for 93 yards; that's just over 5 yards a pop. Good play call on 3rd and goal from the 4, with a quick throw to Andre and he did the rest bulling his way into the endzone following a block from one of his receivers. TEXANS 24-13
-------------------------------
(9:29pm) It takes just 3 plays for the turnover to prove costly. Tony Scheffler leaps into the endzone, crossing the plane with the football just before fumbling. It was challenged by Kubiak but like all of his challlenges this year but one - he lost. Instead of driving for a score that could have put them way out front, it's now a 4-pt game heading into the 4th quarter. I don't have the number in front of me, but if I remember correctly the Texans are 3-41 all-time when they lose the turnover battle. They are down one right now. TEXANS 17-13
-------------------------------
(9:20pm) The Texans are now a perfect 14-for-14 on the season. 14 straight games with at least one turnover and this one was yet another bad one. Sage makes a bad decision to throw deep over the middle to Andre Johnson into triple coverage. The ball gets tipped nullifying a pass interference call, (although the tip came after the interference, but anyway), Bly picks off the tipped ball and puts the Broncos in business at the Texans 27-yard line. Sage didn't step into the throw at all and just made an awful decision. Kubiak was all over Kyle Shanahan and Sage on the sidelines.
-------------------------------
(9:09pm) The Texans open the lead up to 17-6 after Ron Dayne sidesteps his way into the endzone from the 6-yard line. Dayne had no carries in the first half, but had 4 totes for 20 yards on that drive. It was their longest drive of the night, in plays, yards and time of possession. I said in the pregame show, I thought the key tonight was for the Texans to claim momentum both to start the game and to start the half. That's exactly what they have done scoring touchdowns on their opening drives of both halves.
Both scores came on running plays, just the 2nd time this season they've scored two rushing touchdowns in a game. They'd only had 1 rushing TD in the last 4 games combined. TEXANS 17-6
-------------------------------
(8:37pm) Texans lead 10-6 at the half, despite being outgained 179-155 and the Broncos have had the ball nearly 18 minutes. Both teams left a lot to be desired on their final drives of the half when it comes to time management. Shanahan did not use his timeouts properly when the Texans had the ball. Then after they forced a punt (a terrible 34-yard effort from Turk) they let the clock run out from the 35 yard line after an N.D. Kalu sack with 35 seconds left. They lined up to run a play as time was winding down - but they did nothing. To me that just a wasted opportunity. They have 6'4" Brandon Marshall and have nothing to lose on a hail mary.
-------------------------------
(8:30pm) Demps dejavu. Cutler throws one right to Demps again. And again it hits Demps in the hands. And again he drops it.
-------------------------------
(8:18pm) The Texans have got to like where they are, still up 10-6 despite the Broncos moving the ball very well. Three times tonight the Texans defense has gotten the Broncos off the field on 3rd down in Texans territory. Another long 47-yard field goal draws the Broncos closer, but the Texans have made some plays to keep the Broncos out of the endzone. TEXANS 10-6
-------------------------------
(8:00pm) Denver gets a field goal, thanks to the bad hands of S Will Demps. Cutler tried an ill-advised pass over the middle into the endzone for Tony Scheffler. It floated a bit and Demps had it in his sights - too bad it hit him in the hands. The 41-yard Elam field goal wrapped up a 17-play drive and Cutler looks very good so far, his one bad throw not withstanding. TEXANS 7-3
-------------------------------
(7:52pm) Mario makes it 5 games in a row with a sack as he flips Cutler to the turf. That's 10.5 on the season, only KC's Jared Allen has more among AFC defensive lineman, he has 11.5. Pro bowl voting wraps up this week, tonight is his last chance to impress and everybody is watching. Hello Hawaii!!
-------------------------------
(7:39pm) Mike Shanahan for some reason decides against a 53-yard FG and tries to pin the Texans deep with a pooch punt from Jason Elam, which they do as the Texans start their drive from the 4-yard line. But Kubiak getting aggressive and creative with the early play calls evidenced by Kevin Walter's 2 carries for a team-leading 21 yards. The Texans still forced to punt and Turk does his job dropping at the 6-yard line where Davis catches it on the fly - smart play.
-------------------------------
(7:24pm)What a way to start for Sage and the offense. Andre Davis opens with a nice kickoff return. Rosenfels completes all four of his throws, Darius Walker picks up 12 yards on his 2nd carry - a sweep to the left that was blocked beautifully by Winston and Brisiel. Sage rolls out to his left and dashes for the corner of the endzone for his 1st career rushing TD. That looked way too easy. They picked up 5 first downs and faced ZERO 3rd downs. The O-Line was tremendous. TEXANS 7-0
