I know we never figured it could happen again, but the Astros have lost two in a row. They won't win their 4th straight series and also are unlikely to be at .500 by the all-star break.
Big surprise, Runelvys Hernandez has not pitched effectively enough in either of his two starts. Hardly would've mattered as Hiroki Kuroda continued his mastery of the Astros. He took a no-hitter into the 7th the first time he faced the Astros, this time he tossed 7 shutout innings. Hernandez battles courageously, but even after 2 starts it seems pretty obvious that he is not a long-term answer. As soon as Jack Cassel is firmly past his back issues, that spot will be his.
David Newhan might consider not getting picked off 2nd base in the future. Just the type of bonehead play the Astros had stopped making over their last 3 series victories. But it cost them a run this time as Darin Erstad followed with what would have been an RBI double.

Seattle fans now officially are suffering the same fans as Houston fans. The Sonics are out, like the Oilers were out just over a decade ago. The city gets $45 million or maybe as much as $75 million, while Oklahoma City gets NBA basketball. The foolish mayor steps in front of those that elected him and pretends the resolution is just what they were after and NBA basketball will be back in Seattle. Yeah, sure.
Seattle...errrr Oklahoma City owner Clay Bennett, steps to the mic and announces daily operations for Oklahoma City basketball begin first thing in the morning. He gives this announcement in front of an OKC/NBA logo'd backdrop; nice touch you scoundrel.
David Stern gives his cold statement on the proceedings, proclaiming Seattle is a first-class NBA city...provided they pony-up $300 million bucks and step up with a brand new facility with all the ridiculous bells and whistles. Wait a minute - you mean just like the one they built 12 years ago???

What do these 5 relievers have in common?
Brad Lidge, Scott Linebrink, Taylor Buchholz, Billy Wagner & Dan Wheeler
Of course the easy answer is they are all former Astros relievers. Entering play Wednesday, each of them also boasts one the majors 20 best ERA's among relievers.
Lidge (2nd, 0.82), Linebrink (11, 1.32), Buchholz (12, 1.36), Wagner (19, 1.85), Wheeler (20, 1.88)
I could list the players the Astros received in return for these guys, but I think that's just mean.

The Sonics leaving Seattle should leave a bitter taste in every NBA fans mouths. There were only two owners who stood up to them moving out. And It wasn't our beloved Rockets Owners Leslie Alexander . It was Mark Cuban and Paul Allen who said No. But this "legal" theft committed by Stern and Bennett, this also shows that for once, a city and a state was willing to say NO! I have been based in Washington near Seattle and let me say that for the first time they are willing to look at a bigger picture. Plus they also renovated the Key twelve years ago and built new stadiums for the Mariners and Seahawks. So they were fatigued for building new stuff. The Blame though goes on Howard Schulz, the former owner of the Sonics, David Stern and Clay Bennett. Bennett made a mockery of the "good faith" agreement by talking to the State for a $500 Million Dollar Arena in Renton (about 20 minutes outside of Seattle) paid by taxpayers . Of course, the state didn't approve. The e-mails if y'all have read them stated that Bennett was wanting to move the team out one month after purchase with intent to go to Oklahoma City or Kansas City. I hope the Okies love this corrupt team that they just picked up.
