Texans-Jaguars Live Blog, HOU 13-0 3rd

(HOU 13-0, 3rd quarter)
The Texans get a 50-yard field goal from Kris Brown after a great punt return by Jacoby Jones. Jones backpedalled to his 38-yard line but made the first guy miss and sprinted down the sidelines for a 28-yard return. The offense gained just 6 yards but converted the goof field position into points.

After forcing the Jags to punt to open the 2nd half, the Texans defense has now gone 19 straight possessions without allowing a touchdown.

(HOU 10-0, HALFTIME)
A 10-0 halftime lead sure has a hollow feeling when the Jags have absolutely nothing well in the first 30 minutes. Is it me or are the Texans be very cautious in their use of Slaton. He had only 9 carries gaining 50 yards. But thats just 9 runs among their 30 offensive plays (I will not count the bobbled snap and subsequent incomplete pass from P Matt Turk).
He has looked very good and has been shifty and quick hitting the whole and finding open real estate, yet Kubiak seems intent on playing with fire asking Rosenfels to throw and throw and throw really for no reason.
The Texans have not converted any of the 4 third down opportunities.
-----------------------------
The four possessions that followed after the Texans scored were really worthless. Rosenfels threw several more passes essentially up for grabs. Rashean Mathis picked one of them off and its the same old thing with Rosenfels. He just must think his arm is world class, b/c he tries to make throws he simply cannot complete.

Defense has done their job forcing a pair of turnovers, Jacques Reeves made a nice play on the ball on an out route throw to Jerry Porter. DelJuan Robinson made a great play on Maurice Jones-Drew to force a fumble that Nick Ferguson came up with.
--------------------------
It was the third straight week that Rosenfels led the Texans to points on the opening drive. Their only TD a week ago came on an 89 yard, 14-play drive on the game's first possession. Johnson became the Texans all-time leading scorer among non-kickers, he passing Domanick Williams who had 174 points.
-----------------------
The Texans open with a very easy touchdown drive. They went 69 yards with no resistance at all . Steve Slaton looked great again gaining 26 yards on 3 carries and Rosenfels was 2-3 with a 31-yard touchdown pass to Andre Johnson, who took the 18 yard toss and got the corner of the endzone cutting it to the outside. (HOU 7-0, 1st Q)
