Texans take you to Fantasy Land

Come with me to fantasy land.
Where the Texans win their final 4 games for the second consecutive season.
Where we pretend they're oh so close to getting things turned around.
Where a play here and a play there and poof the Texans are going to the playoffs.

Let's begin...
The Texans are about to win. Yep, after losing 5 of 6, most in dramatic, stomach-punching fashion, the Texans will beat Baltimore next Monday night. That'll be followed by wins at Tennessee & Denver and then the huge AFC South division win over Jacksonville at a raucous sold out Reliant Stadium on the last day of the season that propels the Texans into the playoffs AND a home date the following week in Houston to kick off their first-ever playoff campaign.

That's just one part of the scenario that has to play out if the playoff part is going to be true. With the Texans 2 games back of Jacksonville and a game back of the Colts - they need some help. But not as much help as you might think.

Here's one scenario.
Week 14 - HOU W vs BAL, IND W @ Ten, JAX W vs Oak
Week 15 - HOU W @ Ten, IND W vs Jax
Week 16 - HOU W @ Den, JAX W vs Was, IND L @ Oak
Week 17 - HOU W vs JAX, IND W vs Ten

Once you accept the fact that the Texans are going to win their 4 games - is it really that hard to believe both of the following will happen?

1. Colts will close 3-1 including a win at home against the Jags and a loss on the road at the now 6-6 Raiders?
2. Jags close 2-2 with wins at home and losses on the road at Colts and then here in Houston.

Things to watch for...
If the Texans win their next 3, Jags can only eliminate the Texans by doing the same. Otherwise, the Texans will win the division by beating them in week 17 in Houston...unless Colts also go 4-0. Any loss by Colts the rest of the season eliminates them if the Texans go 4-0.

Texans would actually win an 8-8 tiebreaker w/ the Jags unless the Texans lone loss is at Titans and Jags lone win is at Colts.

1...2...3...SNAP - you are no longer in a deep sleep that put you in fantasy land. You can now go back to expecting exciting Texans football that teases you for nearly three hours only to end in inevitable defeat and leaves wondering when, when, when with this team finally get to the playoffs.
