Rockets Red Glare Ain't Too Bright

-- T-Mac's 37 pts vs. Miami on Sunday afternoon might sound good, but not when you consider it took 37 shots to reach that total (13-37 overall, 4-15 from deep-OUCH!). The 37 was a home-court high this yr, but after the game JVG was at a loss again to explain why Tracy is a different player at home and on the road. Take a look......
Pts Per Gm:HM-21,RD-31
FT%:HM-67%,RD-80%
3Pt%:HM-20%, RD-37%
All of those numbers are absurd.
-- Rafer had his best gm in a rocket uni and not just b/c of his season hi 26 pts, but he looked more comfortable running the show than at any point this season and JVG played him the entire 4th qtr so he definitely has the confidence of the coach.
--Stro was a no-show yet again and the rest of the starters weren't much better. Swift and the trio of Howard,Deke & D-Wes added a mere 19 pts.
--Bottom line this team is not going to the playoffs. I'm not trying to bury these guys 0r looking to take credit for their resurgence (like the local fishwrap) if one is to occur. They just have so little margin for error. 39 games remain, they're 15-28. Even if they flip it and go 28-11, that still is just 43 wins and no lock for the postseason. Oh yeah and even with Yao's return this week, there's no logical reason to think that they're about to turn things around.
--And one more troubling note...Cuttino's crib was robbed.
