A Little Texans Preseason Action

Busy Day in Houston. The Comets won at Toyota Center to clinch a playoff spot, the Dynamo are at home vs. FC Dallas, the Stros try to make it 5 in a row for the first time this season, and oh yeah the Texans 5th season begins tonite with preseason tilt # 1 against the Chiefs. I'm out at Reliant Stadium so I'll give you my thoughts on the Texans as things unfold...

14-7 at the half both Carr and Rosenfels led TD drives. Carr played the first two series and looked better than he did last year, but not a whole lot to see or analyze. Looks good on rollouts, still appears to get rid of the ball a hair late on most, if not all of his throws. The TD drive was basically all on the ground, 65 yard drive - 61 yards rushing, including Wali Lundy's huge 25 yard jaunt around the left side. Good read of the hole by Lundy and good burst to shoot the gap.

Rosenfels looks great, just as he does in practice. He had just two incompletions, both to Lundy - one the rookie dropped, the other Lundy was tripped up by fellow rookie Charles Spencer.
He's very smooth and was sensational on the play fake. Another rookie TE Owen Daniels made three excellent catches, got blasted on a couple of them but hung on.

More rookie love, DeMeco Ryans played the entire first half at middle LB and was in 6 tackles, made some rookie mistakes, but it definitely looks he'll be manning that spot on opening day.
