So UH is different from past years how exactly??

Boy has UH done a 180 on the season...4-0 start while beating nobody. Well the beating nobody part hasn't changed except it became literal. 3 straight losses by a total of 8 points.
First came the loss at Miami on national TV. Even though it was just a one-point loss, it should've been a win. The ULL loss is beyond explanation, a 21-0 lead in your house -nice attendance btw - should be a done deal even with your eyes closed. And now no longer undefeated in C-USA after the loss at Southern Miss.

The only truly surprising elements of this years all-too-familiar meltdown are the phenomenal numbers being posted by senior QB Kevin Kolb who should be a mong the frontrunners for some of the most prestigious post-season awards like the Davey O'Brien Award. Some notes on Kolb's marvelous season through 7 games...

** With 339 passing yards, senior quarterback Kevin Kolb recorded the 15th 300-yard passing game in his career… It also was his fourth 300-yard passing game during the 2006 season… The Cougars are 5-10 (.333) all-time during games in which Kolb passes for 300 yards.

** With two touchdown passes, senior quarterback Kevin Kolb recorded his sixth game in 2006 with multi-TD passes and the 23rd multi-touchdown game of his career.

** Senior quarterback Kevin Kolb’s 17th passing attempt of the night gave him 155 consecutive pass attempts without an interception… That total topped the previous record of 154 attempts set by quarterback Andre Ware on Nov. 19, 1988 to Sept. 2, 1989… Kolb finished the night with no interceptions in his last 176 passing attempts… Kolb’s last and lone interception of the 2006 season came during the second quarter against Tulane on Sept. 9, 2006.

** With 353 yards of total offense (339 pass, 14 rushing), senior quarterback Kevin Kolb moved into 10th place in NCAA career history with 11,888 yards (11,250 pass, 638 rush)… Up next in the NCAA records book is Marshall quarterback Bryon Leftwich who racked up 12,084 yards of total offense (11,903 pass, 181 rush) in his career from 1998 to 2002.

** With 339 passing yards, senior quarterback Kevin Kolb moved into 16th place in NCAA career history with 11,250 career passing yards… Up next in the NCAA records book is Western Michigan, who threw for 11,299 yards from 1996 to 1999.

** With 45 plays (38 pass, 7 rush), senior quarterback Kevin Kolb moved past Memphis quarterback Danny Wimprine (2001-04) into third place in Conference USA career history… Kolb finished the night with 1,773 plays during his career… Up next in the C-USA records book is Cincinnati quarterback Gino Guidugli, who compete in 1,791 plays from 2001-04.

** With 353 yards of total offense (339 pass, 14 rush), senior quarterback Kevin Kolb moved past Cincinnati quarterback Gino Guidugli (2001-04) into second place in Conference USA career history… Kolb finished the night with 11,888 yards of total offense (11,250 pass, 638 rush) during his career… Up next in the C-USA records book is Louisville quarterback Chris Redman, who set a C-USA record with 12,129 yards of total offense during his career (1996-99).
