- One Texas writer thinks UH's Kevin Kolb is currently running second in the race for the Davey O'Brien Award given to the best quarterback in the nation.
- Here's a 'who knew' (and who cares) from the Aggie game notes...The Aggies are one of just 4 teams in the nation averaging better than 200 yards on the ground and through the air. Along with Clemson, Louisville, and Nebraska and the 4 teams are a combined 20-3 record. I'll leave it to you to figure out which team doesn't belong in that group. Hint:only 1 team is unranked.
- Baylor and Texas are both 2-0 as the teams meet in Austin on Saturday night. The Longhorns are 4 touchdown favorites and have done o-k against Baylor the last couple of seasons. Baylor has scored 5 TDs against the Horns..........in the last 5 games COMBINED. Texas scored 9 TDs on Baylor in last year's game. 4 shutouts in the last 7 meetings for Texas.
- Also if you didn't know the Longhorns are the winngiest team in the nation in the Mack Brown era. Since 1998 here are the top 5...
1. TEXAS _______________________88-20
2. Boise State ____________________87-27
3. Miami (Fla.) ___________________85-17
4. Oklahoma ____________________82-24
Georgia ______________________82-25
