- And ponder these numbers for a second on Jacksonville's Maurice Drew who comes to Houston this weekend...Five-foot-seven-inch rookie Maurice Jones-Drew (AKA “Li'l Reggie Bush”) is averaging 5.4 yards per rush, 10.1 yards per catch and 25.5 yards per kick return – much better than Bush’s 3.0 a rush, 7.5 a catch and 10.7 a punt return.
- Bad new for Texans fans...Boston Herald reporter and Patriots Insider says the Texans season is over. He says the same for 9 other NFL bottom feeders.
- Not sure why Adrian Peterson wants to play for the Sooners again. He says he's targeting a late season return or at least a bowl game appearance before he wows NFL scouts in Indianapolis at the Combine in February. Plus who knew last Saturday was a bad day on the injury front for Mrs. Peterson, too.
- Not to rub it in for Astros fans, because honestly, truthfully they should be angry over the Beltran signing anymore. But anyway check out his postseason numbers. Mets center fielder Carlos Beltran, a bat the Cardinals have come to know well this time of year, entered Tuesday's game with the highest slugging percentage in postseason history (minimum 70 at-bats), at .900. Troy Glaus' .819, Babe Ruth's .744 and Lou Gehrig's .731 round out the top four. Albert Pujols' postseason slugging percentage is .596. Beltran is also second all-time with a .386 batting average, trailing only Cardinals' Hall of Famer Lou Brock's .391.
- Anybody ready for March Madness. Vegas is. Oddsmakers went way out on a limb and installed reigning champs, the Florida Gators as the favorites.
