It's True, Fake Baseball Is Almost Here

- Major Leaguers and wannabes report to Spring Training this week, so we should soon be subjected to single A non-prospects trying to retire out-of-shape All-Stars for the next couple of weeks. Just to get you riled up, here's the pre-spring training Power Rankings from FoxSports.com. Don't even freak out about the 'Stros coming in at 21, just behind the Orioles and just ahead of the Rockies! You should discount this assesment entirely b/c Cleveland is #2. They finished 20th last year in the standings and while I agree their record will improve (they were 5th in run differential last year), they were 4th in their own division behind three 90 win teams. Good luck passing all 3 of them and everybody else in the majors other than the Yankees in one season.

- The Rockets continued to blast the dregs of the league and by that I dont mean bad teams, like the Bobcats whom they trounced on Saturday. I actually mean the entire Eastern Conference. Houston is now 14-2 vs. the East (18-16 vs. West). The Blazers went to Washington last night and freakin' crushed them holding Agent Zero to 9 points. This after he proclaimed revenge on Nate McMillan (and everyone else) for his National Team snub. Then his own coach Eddie Jordan blasted him after the game for his lack of leadership skills. Not because he isn't a leader, but because he can't be a leader. Very harsh and at least I believe very accurate. Might want to keep an eye on Gilbert's blog to see what his latest excuse is. Oh and by the way I like Arenas.

- Last post I blasted the NFL Pro Bowl and deservedly so. But you take the good with the bad. The bad is Drew Brees dislocated his non-throwing elbow, but it's the offseason so who cares.

- Not that it matters, but new Dallas Cowboys head coach might be surpassed in famedom by his actress/model daughter Tracy Phillips. Check out some vids. Well maybe by online lurkers anyway. And you know who you are. That's right, it's Bum's granddaughter. Yikes.
- Maybe you caught this skating accident over the weekend, maybe not. Thankfully the folks at TSN added some other skating mishaps to their report.
