Biggio is Astros Baseball, Rockets Busy, though get nothing done....

I know it was 4 days ago, but wow!! 5 hits!!! No way Biggio just had his first 5-hit game since April 2001. All singles no less. And two of 'em were infield hits that he had to leg out. The 5th hit of the night came with 2 outs in the bottom of the 11th after Brian Moehler tried to ruin the night by giving up a jack in the top half. The Biggio single was followed by Hunter Pence's hustle double and the plunking of Lance Berkman. Carlos Lee blew the roof off a roofless Minute Maid Park when he belted his grand slam on the first pitch he saw from Brian Fuentes.

Now before you start thinking the 'Stros are going to take this series against the Rockies, in which they beat the Rocks 3 of 4 including Sunday's 12-0 blowout, and use that to catapult them into the serious chase for the postseason, consider the following.
With 80 games to go for Houston, if the Brewers go 40-41 over the second half (they went 47-34 in the 1st half), then the Astros must go 53-27 to best them by 1-game. They are currently playing .427 ball, would need to play .662 ball, and the best team in the league - the Angels - are playing .622 ball. Good Luck.

Money well spent in the Bronx...Clemens & Pettitte so far this year haven't exactly paid dividends. Pettitte is 4-6 after yesterday's abysmal performance when he couldn't even get out of the 2nd inning. The team is 7-12 in his 19 appearances.
The Rocket is 1-3 w/ a 5.32 ERA, the Yanks are 1-4 in his 5 appearances since his supposed triumphant return.
So in other words, the Yankees are 29-25 in the 54 games those 2 guys have watched, 8-16 in the 24 games they've ...ahem... performed.
----------------------------
Rockets fans are not too happy with the choice of Aaron Brooks, the undersized point guard from Oregon, not to mention the pick of undersized power forward Carl Landry from Purdue. Anyone remember them getting hammered in the post in the postseason?? I do.

By the way, I'll be on afternoons all week this week on SportsRadio610 with Matt Jackson, a little NightShift reunion.

The night shift returns! Tell MattJ it's OK to take off the hand fart intro from the award winning celeb birthdays music. I know Rich likes it, but lets face it, Rich is an idiot.

Really! Who wants to hear a manualist everyday anyway? An enjoyable feature nonetheless.
