Day for Questions? Francis' true feelings on his return? Can 'Stros top Bucs even once this year? Weekend plans?

Tune in this afternoon on SportsRadio610, I'll be sitting in for Matt Jackson again beginning at 2pm alongside Rich Lord. We'll have Red Raider coach Mike Leach on at 3:00, the Francis arrival at 3:30 (here's the presser, here's the Francis interview w/ Rich & myself) and John McClain as usual at 4:30.
-------------------------------
Will Francis acknowledge that things did go wrong his first go-round here? Not to mention his problems in Orlando and New York as well. Looking forward to response to the words he said awhile back upon his return to Toyota Center with another team, "I built this place, brick-by-brick, by myself. The baskets are like oceans."
-------------------------------
Remember opening day? 9th inning, Stros lead by one, Lidge delivers and Xavier Nady takes him over the wall for a save-blowing homer. That set the tone for the season and the Pirates own the Astros beating them all 6 times so far. Tim Purpura joined Marc & Andre this morning on SR610 and he did say it would be a monumental comeback if the Astros really put a run together - yet it sounded like he might even have believed it might happen.

These are a few of the stories we discussed on the show today...
Nice to know one of the NBA referees might have been on the take the last couple of years. It's Tim Donaghy and yes he was part of the postseason refereeing crew this past year. Super. The NY Post broke the story earlier today.

I hope this NBA ref doesn't have friends in other professional sports leagues (NFL, NHL, MLB, MLS, WNBA, AFL). My gut feeling is this is bigger than most can imagine. This scandle might make Mike Vick look like the citizen of the year.

I'm mixed on Steve Francis returning to the Rockets. I didn't appreciate his game that much in the Prequel. I felt that his style could only take the Rockets as far as they got and the team needed to go in a different direction. I guess we'll see if the second coming is better than the first. Go Rockets!

Williams and Lidge shut down a weak Pirate team this weekend. Good for them! I hate it when it happens this way. Lidge gets two saves and everyone thinks he's back. Williams finally has a breakthrough performance. These types of performances provide fans with a false sense of hope and seem to paralyze and "perplex" Pupura.
