For the Rockets it's a minor gamble for this year and a no brainer for next year as they reunite Jackson and Adelman from their Sacramento days. (see photo). They would have been hard pressed to re-sign Wells in the offseason and Aaron Brooks will undoubtedly be ahead of Jackson in the rotation next year with Jackson's $6 million expiring contract potentially being used as a bargaining chip. Plus James was under contract for another two seasons and now that is the Hornets problem.
For now though, the risk is Jackson is no different than James (or Steve Francis for that matter). He'll be 35 in 3 weeks and he hasn't shot even 40% in a season since his Sacramento days three years ago. This year he's at 38.6% and averaging 6.8 points per game - a figure that hasn't been that low this decade. In a nutshell his numbers are essentially no different than James' this season.
It might mean more opportunities for Head and Novak in Wells' absence and at least Jackson has above average ball-handling skills to be a legit backup-point guard. But this is a player the Rockets had pursued in years past and he's definitely lost a lot over his 12 years in the league. As the posters on Clutchfans were quick to point out as news of this rumored trade surfaced, Jackson may need to give T-Mac a hug to make sure there are no hard feelings.

Now to the Spurs. They traded two expiring contracts worth $8 million (Brent Barry, Francisco Elson) for Kurt Thomas and his $8 million expiring contract. It's really helps them upfront because over the last several years he's proven to be a very capable post defender and a very strong rebounder. But now on to the real reason I'm even mentioning the Spurs, Manu gets posterized. Thank you, Jason Richardson.

And this collection of videos from the Spurs copycat Tux n' Tennies event has Bruce Bowen, Tim Duncan, Robert Horry and Tony Parker singing and dancing they're way through some pretty famous and very manly movies.
