The issue is still a huge deal, but not like it was over the last 20 years or so. You can see the magazine photos that used to end up on the floor over on their website and with all the videos available, not to mention the TV special next week.
Here's my favorite pic of auto racing's version of Anna Kournikova. That's right, the only thing that Danica is

Just like the Super Bowl with the Salaam/Pitts commercial, the Texans are once again represented in the national spotlight. Twin Texans Cheerleaders, Larisa and Marisa are among the featured NFL cheerleaders in the issue.

Because of the extremely strong use of their time, the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform, will try to convince us all that either Brian McNamee or Roger Clemens in a big fat liar. I still have my doubts that we will really know the answer to whether or not Clemens actually used/abused PEDs. It's still going to be a bunch of he said-he said garbage. Unless one of these two men decides to completely change their story, then tomorrow's hearing is not going to be the end of this saga.
Over the last few days, both sides have spent all sorts of energy on proving whether or not Clemens attended a party 10 years ago. If he had a conversation with Jose Canseco regarding steroids. McNamee even states in the Mitchell Report and in his interview with the Feds that he has no knowledge of what was said since he wasn't even a part of it. This is what they're fighting over?? Conversations about steroids sure seem normal to me. It really doesn't bother me if Roger Clemens or any other MLBer has had a conversation about PEDs. I only care if they used and nothing that has been leaked so far indicates either party is saying anything different than they have for weeks.
The circus begins at 8:30am tomorrow morning. Tune in to SportsRadio 610 for live coverage of the proceedings.

Apparently the Astros think RHP Shawn Chacon can help them since Alyson Footer of MLB.com has Ed Wade offering the pitcher a contract just days before reporting day for spring training. Note his splits from last season
As a reliever: 4-3, 3.52 ERA
Against RHB: 3.18 ERA, .236 BAvg, 58 K, 23 BB
Against Astros: 1.59 ERA, .154 BAvg --- You think that caught someone's eyes?
I wouldn't worry too much (unless the pay anything above $2 million for him!!), he's not really even a good bet to make the team.

I know the Shaq deal was official several days ago, but he hasn't played yet so I can still give my opinion before we see him on the court with his new team. The trade is tremendously good for the Heat. If Marion stays, then they are likely getting a more productive player than O'Neal (for them) and Marcus Banks is not even that good, but he's the best point guard they now have in Miami. For the Suns - it is a huge gamble. But upon review, it is one probably worth taking. They have run this group out there for a couple of years and they haven't emerged from the West, so they are rolling the dice. Because of injuries and suspensions, you could make an argument that they really haven't been full strength for their recent runs.
Many immediately made the argument that the team with the best record in the West is panicking by making this trade. Take one all-star out, move one all-star in. Essentially that's what they did. But look more closely. I mentioned this on last night's show. Phoenix is 1st in the West, but only because they are clobbering the East. They are 21-2 vs. the East. If you include only games vs. the West, then the Suns would be 10th among the 10 teams fighting for the postseason. Here you go.
DAL....22-6
NO......25-11
LAL....18-8
UTA...19-12
SA.......19-13
POR....16-11
GS.......17-12
HOU....17-13
DEN....17-14
PHX.....15-13
That's why they made the deal. Now the $40 million that Shaq is still owed over the upcoming two seasons is something they'll be OK with only if they nab a title. I'll say this for Shaq, he led the Magic to the NBA Finals, won a title in LA, won a title in Miami, now has a chance to get back to the Finals with a 4th team. That's pretty impressive if he can pull that off. Magic

If you missed it, Bill Walton started a war of words with Shaq regarding his injury status. Bill is right, because it is obvious that Shaq was not giving the Heat his best. But as Shaq has said since the deal was made, he going to bring everything he's got, every night for the Suns. Shaq took the comments differently. It's all good. Funny stuff.
