Rockets-Lakers Live blog, HOU 104-92, Final

Incredible. That's all I can say. They are doing things that I really don't even think they believed they could do.
----------------------------------
First Shane Battier hits a huge clutch 3 in the corner, then Jackson does the same and just like that the Rockets lead by 10. McGrady is 3-4 in the period with 2 assists. Kobe is sitting at 24 points on 11-30. He won't finish with those numbers. (HOU 96-86, 3:21 4Q)
----------------------------------
Well McGrady has twice as many buckets this quarter as he did the rest of the game; he knocked down his first 2 shots of the quarter. This one is destined to go down to the wire though. Bobby Jackson has been exceptional in this one and he and Rafer have outscored Fisher and Farmar now 42-14.
Rafer's 28 points are just 1 off a career high and his seven 3-pointers have already set a new career best. (HOU 88-84, 5:37 4Q)
------------------HOU 71-66, End 3rd----------------------
Rafer is saving the Rockets collective butts right now. Houston had only 12 points in the 12 minute period. He connected on 3 more triples (now 7-10 today) and McGrady's lone bucket and free throw of the game were all the points the team could muster. Yet, they did not relinquish the lead and the 10-0 Lakers run that opened the quarter turned out to be the only dent in the Rockets lead the Lakers would make.
----------------------------------
The Rockets have led nearly wire-to-wire and Tracy McGrady has 2 points. He just made his first shot of the game and is now 1-10 and he looks a lot like the T-Mac that everyone has been doubting all these years. I wouldn't be surprised if Adelman rested him thru the end of the 3rd and hoped that the McGrady we've seen over the last 21 games will emerge in the 4th quarter.
Rockets just 4-18 in the quarter.
(HOU 64-62, 2:18 3Q)
----------------------------------
After DJ Mbenga cut the lead to 3, Rafer finally scored the Rockets 1st points of the half with a 3 - assisted by T-Mac (who is still scoreless.) (HOU 62-58, 4:46 3Q)
----------------------------------
McGrady has missed his first two shots of the second half and is now 0-8 and still has not scored. Timeout, Rockets. 10-0 run to start half for Lakers. (HOU 59-54, 7:38 3Q)
--------------------HOU 59-44, HALF----------------------
Rockets are 24 from 22. 24 minutes from win number 22 in a row as they take their largest lead of the game into halftime. 59-44. Kobe missed his 11th shot of the half (6-17) just before the buzzer.
----------------------------------
Rockets trying to be careful over the final 2 minutes of the half. They do not want the Lakers taking away any of their mojo into the lockerroom. It's working. Scola comes crashing through to grab Luther Head's shot attempt that had been blocked by Odom and when Radmanovic gets tagged with the foul, he blows up and gets T'd up as well. The lead goes to 13. (HOU 57-44, :30 2Q)
----------------------------------
With 4 minutes to go in the half, Rockets point guards have 25 points(Alston 16, Jackson 9), Lakers duo has 4 (Fisher 1, Farmar 3). (HOU 49 -38, 3:09 2Q)
----------------------------------
Those aforementioned back-ups just pushed a one-point lead out to a ten-point advantage. Adelman said he thought Jackson might be trying to fit in rather than be himself and remain the aggressive player that the Rockets acquired him to be. That's the guy that came to the arena today. He has 9 points since checking in and all because he has been relentless taking the ball right to the basket.

Kobe is really trying to do it all, w/ Gasol laid up. He's already hoisted 14 shots in 17 minutes. Battier and now Hayes have done very well on him so far. (HOU 39-29, 6:57 2Q)
----------------------------------
4 backups and Battier start the 1nd quarter for the Rockets - that right there is how much confidence Adelman has in his guys. Odom picks up a silly technical for non-chalantly kicking the ball into the stands. (HOU 33-29, 8:28 2Q)
------------------HOU 24-23, End 1st---------------------
The Lakers finally took their first lead at 21-20, but the Rockets scored the next 6 in a row, a trhee-point play by Chuck Hayes and another 3-point bomb from Alston. He finished the quarter with 16 points to lead all scorers. Good thing, since McGrady and I have scored the same number of points so far. Just as the 1-point margin would indicate it's a very close game; Both teams shot 8-19 in the period and each grabbed 10 boards.
----------------------------------
Battier doing a tremendous job on Kobe early-on, forcing him into an offensive foul and just 3-8 to start. Considering 2 of those buckets are of the fast break variety - Battier's hand-in-the-face of the shooter defense is working so far.

Trouble for the Rockets is they are committing too many unforced errors. Just 9 minutes into the game, they already have 5 give-aways. That has to stop, even their defense can't overcome that. (HOU 16-15, 2:59 1Q)
----------------------------------
Scola as usual was very active early, but in this case too active - 2 fouls in less than 6 minutes puts him on the bench. Enter Chuck Hayes and soon enough expect Mike Harris. BTW, if you missed the Mark Berman-led My20 pregame show, GM Daryl Morey said the Rockets had decided to sign Harris through the rest of the season.

On the court Rafer is on fire, 3-3 from downtown and has a game-high 11 points. Kobe starts 2-5, T-Mac is 0-2 and has not scored yet.(HOU 16-10, 5:16 1Q)
----------------------------------
The answer is no, this does feel like a regular season game. It sure doesn't feel like any of the other 21 wins during the streak either. One reason - a strong Laker contingent behind their 1st half basket. BOOOOOO!!!!! (HOU 11-7, 6:18 1Q)
----------------------------------
It didn't take long for Dikembe to make his presence felt. A block on one end and a vicious shoulder to Vlad Radmanovic on the other. He is one dangerous dude. The Lakers start 0-6, while the Rockets hit 2 of their first 3 treys to take an 8-2 lead. (HOU 8-2, 8:20 1Q)
-------------------------------WEX
