Texans to be Sued?, Rockets No Beat Bad Teams, Genius Videos!

According to this report, the Texans are about to be sued by a player who claims he was injured in contact drills which should have prohibited under the CBA. Outside the Lines has the story on ESPN, and here's the brief video of OL Dan Stevenson and his claims.

UPDATE: As usual, Fox26's Marc Berman is all over this story. Here's what Fred Weary told him about the use of his affidavit in the OTL report.
"I feel like Dan Stevenson did me a disservice," Weary said. "At the time I signed it, I didn't think he would go to this extreme. I thought it would be used internally through the team.
"This is upsetting," Weary said. "I don't want it to seem like I have ill feelings toward the Texans. It would be like biting the hand that feeds you."

--- John McClain similarly has the 411 on the situation on chron.com and he's joining Matt & Rich on Sportsradio610 at 2:40 this afternoon to discuss.

---My thoughts are that this will result in fines for the Texans' Head Coach Gary Kubiak. But it might also force the league to rethink their practice parameters during the offseason. I think they are under team control far more than necessary. Just go with two mini-camps and training camp with more two-a-days. Maybe this would also make teams like the Texans get more out of training camp b/c they are on the field less.

Come on Rockets - 5-11 all-time at the Fed Ex Forum in Memphis against the Grizzlies??!?!? Smoked in both games there this year!?!?!
Last night's 104-93 loss was better than the last loss there in December since the Rockets never even led in that game. Their defense is becoming a bigger and bigger trouble spot for this team. Shooting 50% against the Rockets used to be near impossible, not this year. Dribble penetration is so easy against them now and then it puts the Rockets in scramble mode and that leads to a parade through the lane for easy baskets.
No one played sound defense last night, team d or individually. Heat from last night's game should come down on Ron Artest and the self proclaimed Goon sqaud off the bench were not good. They made 4 shots. They missed 19. Artest made his first jumper. Then missed all of his other 9, including all 5 in the 4th quarter when the Rockets were launching three-pointers like it was All-Star Weekend. The really troubling part is that it is exactly what they did wrong against the Knicks a couple of weeks ago - lesson not learned.

Forgot to bring this up after the Super Bowl. The NBA pregame coverage featured a Top Chef all-stars challenge. Bravo & NBC are under the same umbrella so using some of your 6 hours of pregame coverage to pimp your product is fine. But don't bring out the bald, boring head judge and 3 weird, eclectic, goofball chefs from year's past, along with yet another female contestant who looks like she spent more time eating than cooking since her season ended. You have Padma!!! Use her!!! Dan Patrick could have introduced her and they could have stood there slient for 5 minutes and it would have done more for Top Chef than the crap they trotted out there.--------------------------------------
Congrats to Nick Saban on winning the meaningless recruiting national title. Now try not to get bitch-slapped by a Mountain West team in a BCS game.
Congrats to Arizona for being creative in recruiting. Sell the kids on your programs best features and assets.Maybe their rivals at Arizona State will rethink dumping their squad. Especially since they could have used these pics to help out on national signing day.--------------------------------------
Genius Vids
There are screw-ups on TV news all the time. Sometimes it's the anchors slip-of-the-tongue, sometimes the wrong video plays and sometimes the graphics department has issues. We'll go with the latter on this one. Always fun to watch how the lonely anchor react.
