- I saw Santonio Holmes do things he's never done before...
His Super Bowl performance...9 catches, 131 yards, the game winning TD catch and Super Bowl XLIII.
Previous career highs...
Receptions - 6 (25 games ago in 2007)
Yards - 133 yards (again in 2007, his best this year thus far had been 94 yards)
His playoff totals in 3 previous postseason games - 7 catches, 144 yards.
Ben Roethlisberger, Heath Miller, James Harrison, Lamar Woodley all played exceptional football in the biggest game - but every single one of them has done what they did many times before. Holmes finally arrived as an NFL receiver. Picked a nice time to do it. His final catch was among the league's best of all-time all things considered.

- I saw a Hall-of-Fame QB lose his 2nd Super Bowl. He threw what could could have been a game winning TD pass with just 2:37 to give his team 16 points in less than 5 minutes in the 4th quarter against the best defense in the NFL.
After doing very little thru 3 quarters - he thrown a TD pass to each teeam up until that point, he simply stepped up his game - in the biggest game - against the baddest defense. That is a Hall-of-Famer.
His numbers you ask...
1st half...12-18, 135 yards, TD, INT (which was returned for a TD on the last play of the 1st half)
2nd half...19-25, 242 yards, 2 TD, 0 INT
- Arizona was going nowhere before he arrived, just like St. Louis. The Rams were 4-12 when he arrived. The next year he became the starter and they went 13-3 and won the Super Bowl.
- His 377 yards were the 2nd most in Super Bowl history. He passed himself for 2nd. He trails himself for 1st. In other words, he holds the top 3 passing games in Super Bowl history. He's #1 in yards passing per game in the postseason (306.8 yards), minimum 8 starts. Also #1 in the same category for the regular season. All-time leader in both categories!!
- Three times in his 11 year career, Warner has started all 16 regular season games, including this year. He has led his team to the Super Bowl each time.

- I saw two head coaches and their staffs that are what every team should strive for. It's not a coincidence that Whisenhunt made two coaches challenges and got them both correct. That comes from great communication among the coaching staff and trusting both the coaces and players to paint the proper picutre for the head coach to decide if a play is worth a challenge.
Both teams were obviously ready to play and extremely well prepared for what the other team was going to throw at them. The Steelers held Fitzgerald to one catch in the first half and he was only targetd twice I believe. In the second half, Arizona figured out better ways to use him and he took over the game with two highlight reel touchdown catches.
The Steelers should be in the mix for the Super Bowl every year for at least the next 5 years and the Cardinals will be the same provided their QB position remains strong with either Warner stayed or Leinart stepping up in his absence. The former is a safe bet.

Just in case you missed it. Over in Lubbock - like father, like son. The Knights.

Remember Ole Miss head coach Andy Kennedy's incident with a cabbie back in November. All sorts of contradicting stories - now the police video of his arrest has been released. This all took place in Cincinnati, so I encourage stick with the Video until the the final 30 seconds to see what kind of reputation a certain Cincinnati sports team has earned.

Props to WDIV in Detroit. That's the local NBC affiliate. Watch the crawl to see their thoughts on Matt Millen. Hilarious.
No response from Millen yet!!!
