Adelman & Alba - just not together.

Take the good with the bad. You don't interview, meet, call, talk to a new coach while the current coach is still employed...unless he's gone. Thus JVG is gone. The process of making contact with Rick Adelman and having it accidentally leaked to the media through multiple sources, is awfully big indication that the Rockets want to move on and will use whatever means necessary to show JVG they want him out.
I say take the good with the bad, because this team will never resemble what JVG had over the last 2 healthy seasons, no matter who they hire. They won 51 games and lost a 7-game series to the Mavs in '04-05. They won 52 games and lost a 7-game series to the Jazz this year. They may approach or surpass those win totals, but they won't be doing it the same way. Adelman will allow for much more offensive flow. He'll be much more tolerant of mistakes - and they will make tons and tons of them. Defense as we've seen it the last 4 years - gone. Don't expect to see the Rockets anywhere near the top ten defensively no matter how the roster is reshaped.
That being said, who's to say progress won't be made as soon as next season. Under JVG, 3 trips to the playoffs in 4 years - no wins. T-Mac & Yao in their prime - the time to get something done is right now.

Any second thoughts on bringing Hunter Pence to the big leagues?? He raised his average to .310 last night with 3 more hits, including the game-tying 2-run jack off the 'fowl' pole in left. In his last 3 games, he's 7-10 with 2 HR, 2B and 6 RBI. He leads the team in slugging percentage and you can see him getting better everyday in center field. Hate to crush the guy b/c he's a good team guy, but Morgan Ensberg has been out of the line-up the last three games. They've won all 3 and scored 21 runs in doing so. It helps when you remove a guy from the line-up who's riding an 1-21 streak with 7 punchouts.

It only took three months but we finally wrapped up the Field of 69...minus 1. The Final Four of Beyonce, Jessica Biel, Sofia Vergara and Jessica Alba was as strong as could be, but with the recent release of the latest GQ spread, Alba proved to be unbeatable. Her appearance courtside at Golden State playoffs also helped. Timing is everything, so you could argue Alba benefited from our laziness, because relevance counts. Here is the final bracket and here are the pics that put her over the top.

I'll start from the bottom up. First, Jessica Alba is just fine no ifs ands or buts about it. I've been facinated with her since it was still probably illegal when she was the lead in "Dark Angel". She is the ultimate fantasy woman beautiful, sexy, classy and unaccessible.

The Astros made a good decision to bring Hunter Pence up and all I can say it's about time! Morgan ensburg needs to stay on the bench. The organization has been relying and depending on Ensburg to a fault and it is time to stop.

You're right JVG is probably gone. If is he out as the coach then he left the team in better shape than he inheritied it. I hope he stays with the organization in some other executive capacity.

It is obvious they pulled him up to fast. His last 7 AB's show the poor performace of bringing up guys to fast, and thus proving the astros method of leaving guys in the minors till they are at least 30 years of age works.

Wex you are right, the "loyalty factor" for Garner can be over done. Not pinch hitting for Everett, or Ausmus or even Biggio now days is just a bad move. I have questioned his ability to make game dicissions since the 04 NLCS when Pujols drove in 4 runs in three at bats with first base open! The win now with the vets is not working so lets win now with the new guys!!!
